She helps to recruit, train, manage, and recognize all of the Reserves amazing volunteers. Volunteers help with every sector of GBNERR, including Research, Education, Stewardship, and Coastal Training programs. We are hiring for the position of Education Program Manager Employment start date 12/1/2024 The nonprofit Gundalow Company seeks a full-time year-round PROGRAM MANAGER who will work onboard our sailing classroom PISCATAQUA and in the office with staff, crew, and volunteers to manage and help teach all of our programs for school/youth groups, teachers, and the public. This position includes the management of our five-day camp program for 8 weeks throughout the summer, as well as managing and training approximately six educator/deckhands and eight camp counselors, and assisting with the planning for our annual Riverfest event.
A Message From The Executive Director We received sad news regarding one of our Gundalow Company volunteers over the weekend. J.B. Parrett, a UNH Marine Docent and a volunteer with us since 2022 passed away on September 11th following a cycling accident in Acadia National Park. J.B. was a member of my UNH Docent Class in 2022 and was also a fellow USNA graduate. Like me, he entered the active Navy after graduation as a Surface Warfare Officer and we swapped many sea stories about our shared experiences driving the big gray ships. Paul and Denise will discuss what indigenous life was like prior to contact, including indigenous place names and cultural practices. The Gundalow Co. is thrilled to once again be a part of the Parade of Sail and Flotilla as part of Sail Portsmouth 2023 Tall Ship Festival. Our very own Piscataqua will sail up river beside the five visiting ships for the Parade of Sail and Flotilla which is scheduled to begin at 6:15 PM (1815) Thursday, July 27. Come aboard the Gundalow Piscataqua Friday July 28 through Monday July 31 for a unique water-side view of these spectacular guests to our beloved Piscataqua region.
