Jill is a member of the Board of Directors and its Marketing Task Force. In addition, she is a volunteer and donor and was a frequent guest speaker aboard the gundalow Piscataqua in her previous job, as well as partnering with the Gundalow staff on numerous events around the watershed.
PERSONAL DEETS
Jill is the founder and owner of Farrell Strategic Group (www.farrellstrategicgroup.com), a full-service strategic and digital marketing and communications firm headquartered in Kittery, Maine, with a knack for working with nonprofits, small businesses and environmental organizations. Prior to founding FSG she worked for eight years with the Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership (PREP), which is part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Estuary Program. While working at PREP Jill was able to partner with Gundalow Company on many events and efforts across the Piscataqua Region Watershed. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism; a master’s degree in Environmental Science & Policy; is an avid world traveler and storyteller; and relishes meeting new people.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
“I have salt in my veins,” says Jill. “I was raised on Cape Cod and have been sailing since birth. Nowadays I thrive on sailing and living aboard my 43-foot ketch rigged sailboat ‘Zephyr’ with my husband and 12-year-old Golden Retriever, ‘Toby.’” Ironically, the Farrells lived aboard Zephyr year-round for four years across from the Gundalow Company docks on the Piscataqua River by Prescott Park in Portsmouth. “We now live aboard Zephyr in the summers in New Castle.
