ON BEHALF OF NEWBURYPORT BANK President and CEO Lloyd Hamm donated $10,000 as the lead corporate sponsor of Gundalow Company’s ‘Piscataqua Riverfest 2022’ special event, to be held Saturday, June 4th, in partnership with Strawbery Banke Museum. The bank’s locations include Amesbury, Dover, Exeter, Hampton, Newbury, Newburyport, Portsmouth and Salisbury.
TRAVELLIN’ MAN As of this writing (April 2022), Lloyd and his wife had just returned from a two-week trip to France. Lloyd has visited every state of the U.S. and all Canadian provinces, as well as the Arctic Circle, the Equator, and 76 countries. In the not-too-distant future, he’ll be in Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland, the Panama Canal, Israel, Jordan, and Eqypt. When he retires in a few years, he intends to spend time in Australia and New Zealand with his wife and two daughters.
‘DOUBLE UNICORN’ Lloyd earned a bachelor’s degree (1981) in biology and an MBA (1983) from Anna Maria College. Upon gradu- ation, he was appointed Operations Officer for Mechanics Bank. Eventually he would be nicknamed a ‘Double Unicorn’ for his unique combination of technology and business mastery as CEO of both banks and credit unions. Indeed, he is the Founding Dean of the School of Business at Anna Maria College. And his tech prowess is exemplified by his achievements at M-Tech, where he designed and developed bank deposit and transaction systems (teller, ACH, ATM, payment, and lockbox transactions) and converted customer-banks onto these indispensable systems. Prior to Newburyport Bank, Lloyd spent five years as CEO of Homefield Credit Union and 26 years at Eastern Bank, overseeing business line management and development, technology, operations and administration.
