clickOn this evening’s cruise, Jeremy will recap the fascinating history of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse in New Castle, New Hampshire, and Whaleback Lighthouse in Kittery, Maine. He will also discuss Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses’ extensive restoration work on both lighthouses, and the plans for a new docking system at Whaleback. He will tell about the fascinating human history of lighthouse keepers and their families, and he might even include a ghost story or two.

He is the author of 15 books and hundreds of articles on lighthouses and other maritime subjects, including The Lighthouse Handbook: New England and a four-volume set on the lighthouses of Maine. He is the founder of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses, and historian for the American Lighthouse Foundation. He has lectured and narrated cruises all over New England, and his company, New England Lighthouse Tours, offers minivan tours to lighthouses.
